~ Lowlands Bagpipe ~

"This instrument is another example of the lowlands bagpipe. The two drones are assembled in a flat holder with one opening in the leather bag. The wooden block is a good object for woodcarving or decorations. The above photo shows a nice example of wood carving I use on my instruments now as an extra possibility. This design is from the Armenian culture and carving techniques - it has a resemblance to Celtic ornamentation. " ~ Frans Hattink
